What is a Telehealth visit?Telehealth is the use of electronic means to provide health advice, counseling, & education through live video conferencing. Meili Medicine is an affordable, convenient way to resolve routine conditions. Our unique, secure, technology makes it possible to see a licensed practitioner, face to face, without you having to leave your home. Visits are accessible on your smartphone, desktop or telephone. With video, providers can look, listen and engage with you to diagnose your health concerns and provide an effective treatment plan.

How does it work?You will have a live video conference with your provider at your scheduled appointment time. First, create a Zoom account. Second, connect to your appointment through your Zoom link found in your confirmation email.

How much does an online Telehealth visit on Meili Medicine cost?The cost of a 30 minute appointment is $120, compared to the average new patient cost of a 15 minute office visit for $150 or $645 for an emergency room visit. This cost does not include the cost of any prescriptions, follow-up lab work or follow-up visits if deemed applicable.

How long is a visit on Meili Medicine?A typical visit at Meili Medicine is 30 minutes – the amount of time needed to handle follow-up appointments. Of course, you can add more time should you need to.

Why would I see an alternative practitioner online?Illness or injury can occur at any time. Meili Medicine helps you get back on your feet, no matter where you are. You can schedule an appointment online for a range of issues, from minor illnesses, symptoms from a chronic condition, or to address general health concerns. Here are a few reasons people go online for an appointment: I feel like I need a checkup, but can’t really fit it into my over-booked schedule. It’s difficult for me to get an appointment. I just need a second opinion. I’m between jobs and have no coverage. I am not getting answers or improving from the conventional healthcare system.

What is Meili Medicine Telehealth not for?This service is not for people suffering from serious or life threatening conditions, such as but not limited to: Seizures Chest pain Neurological symptoms, suggesting a stroke Difficulty breathing Dizziness or loss of consciousness Sudden bleeding Choking or gagging Severe Hypertension or Hemorrhoids Head injury Possible broken bones Patients who want to hurt themselves (suicidality) Patients who want to hurt others (homicidality) Schizophrenia or hallucinations If you have any of the above symptoms or any other serious medical concerns please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

I don’t have a smartphone or computer, is there another way to schedule an appointment?Yes, through a phone consultation.

Can my kids have an appointment?Children, under the age of 18, may be easily added to your account.

Can medical forms (like sick slips) be filled out?Yes, we are able to provide simple forms like sick slips or back to work/school documents as clinically appropriate. Be sure to request the documentation before ending your conversation. Please note that Meili Medicine is not able to provide more substantial documents like FMLA forms, disability forms or handicap/DMV documents as these documents require in in-person evaluation.

What if I don't have health insurance?All of Meili Medicine's services are available without insurance. Your visit will be charged to your credit card.

What should I do if I am experiencing a medical emergency?If you think you’re experiencing a medical emergency, please do not use Telehealth. Instead, you should immediately seek emergency care by calling 911.
